David Nusselder LLB
Rijksuniversiteit Groningen
ISA Certified Arborist
“I started working in arboriculture in 2013, but my passion for trees began in my childhood. Growing up, I explored the rural forests of Gelderland and Tilburg in the Netherlands and pursued a degree in international law with a focus on conservation after completing my secondary education in the US. I earned a Bachelors of Laws (LLB) Rijksuniversiteit Groningen in 2013.
During the decade to come I worked as a carpenter and forester in the Finnish Lapland under the tutelage of local arboriculture heavy weight Ben Mikhael Wilhelm Bergman and then as a climbing arborist for We Love Trees Inc. of Niwot, Colorado under Board Certified Master Arborist Joshua Morin. In 2023, I became a Certified Arborist through the International Society of Arboriculture after passing a rigorous exam in Denver, Colorado.
In 2024, I founded Oak City Arborist with the goal of changing the prevailing narrative about tree care to address the dire environmental challenges that we as a species collectively face. Since then, I have continued honing my skills and establishing a strong base in the Raleigh area. I am excited to continue serving the local community by sharing my expertise and passion for trees.”
